Palm landscaping

Most condominium associations have a large line item in their budgets dedicated to landscaping. Well-maintained landscaping can have a significant positive impact on a community’s curb appeal and unit values. On the flip side, poor landscape maintenance shortens plant lives, costing the association tens thousands of dollars in plant replacements. Given this, it is important for our board members to understand the basics of plant selection, maintenance and irrigation.

Unfortunately, there are not many landscaping resources available specifically tailored to the needs of condominiums. Because of this, many companies use this to their advantage by making their prices unreasonably high. The board of directors attained two quotes at the start of 2019; the first quote being $73,450 and the second being $65,800. This was in order to plant around 70 new palm trees all around the condominium. We decided to hand-pick the palm trees from multiple farms for this project. As a result, we planted 68 new Royal, Coconut, and Parodius palm trees. We spent only $24,700. Thanks to the incredible work done by our head-gardener, Alejandro Perez, this project was made possible.
